“Wanna trade?” We heard this phrase starting during elementary school lunch, when your mom packed you carrots and oatmeal “cookies” AGAIN, while your friend was snacking on fruit roll ups and real cookies. Back then, trading wasn’t always successful. Yet, this week commodity trading is taking on a whole new definition as BP invites you to their Trading Simulation! This simulation requires no previous knowledge, but promises you the opportunity to learn more about BP’s unique trading positions while trying it out yourself!
British Petroleum (BP) is one of the world’s largest integrated oil and gas companies. This company works to provide customers with fuel, light, petrochemical products, and other sources of energy to keep this world spinning round. They not only provide it for you, but are also operating in more than 70 countries. This week, Wehner will be their 71st focus.
The Trading Simulation is being hosted this Thursday and Friday, the 16th and 17th of February at Wehner 192. At this event you can expect to take a closer look at commodity trading and related careers, practice trading with the help from BP, and even compete for a prize! Not a business or engineering student? No problem! This event is open to all majors.
Whether you desire to learn what trading means beyond the elementary school lunch table, or feel as if you have honed your abilities and are determined to win the prize, all are welcome to sign up.
