AggiExternship FAQ

1. How many students can I invite to participate?
   You may select as few as 1 student and as many as 50 students.
2. Can I select a particular major for my students?
   Yes, you may select an individual major or multiple majors.
3. How are students assigned to the company?
   Students are matched according to their major to your company's request and then the students select the companies they plan to visit based on the AggiExternship program date and location.
4. Is it possible for different sites of the same company to participate in the externship program?
   Yes, as long as the site is located in or near one of the target areas: Austin, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston, San Antonio, or Bryan/College Station. Please complete a different form for each site, even if the contact person is the same for all locations.
5. What type of work experience and job skills do students bring to the AggiExternship?
   Students range from Freshmen with little, to no job experience who are eager to explore the working world for the first time, to Graduate students with some job experience who are eager to explore new career opportunities.
6. Will an AggiExternship lead to a Co-op or Internship?
   Not necessarily. We encourage students to bring a resume and to network with the company representatives; however, this is not intended to be a formal recruiting event.
7. Does the company provide transportation for the students?
   No, students will provide their own transportation to and from the company site.
8. Does the company pay a student for the externship?
   No, students will not receive any form of payment for the experience.
9. What is the average length of an extern visit?
   In most cases, companies plan an entire day of activities. However, the average length for programs has been a little over 5 hours.
