Before Completing the AggiExternship Registration Form
- Determine the maximum number of Students that you can accommodate so that everyone will be able to participate in activities.
- Determine which major(s) would be best accommodated at your site. For example, although your company primarily hires chemical engineers, at your site there may not be many chemical engineering projects, therefore you may want to pick another major(s) to host.
- Determine if there are special dress or operational requirements for the Students (e.g. Business casual, Business suit, closed-toe shoes, no cameras, etc.).
- Determine Work Authorization (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, International).
Develop the AggiExternship Program/Agenda
- Coordinate with others in your company to plan the event.
- Identify impressive and informative areas of company to show off.

Decide on topics to present, e.g.,
* Company/Industry overview
* New technologies
* Case studies
* Company recruiting process/priorities.
- Organize a schedule of events.
- Include speakers and a facility tour.
- Introduce Students to a diverse group of people.
- Have recent New Hires relate work to the Students' classroom experience.
- Describe New Hire opportunities and career paths available for Students at your company.
- Serve lunch
What to Do After the Externship
- Circulate Student resumes to Hiring Managers.
- Maintain contact with Students you are interested in.
Helpful Hints for Employers
- Make sure Presenters understand the purpose of the AggiExternship.
- Make the Students feel at home with your people and company.
- Talk in the Students' language, explain company acronyms and terms that you use everyday.
- Circulate resumes to Hiring Managers
- Make sure Students have fun! and want to come to work for you!
