Former Students can submit their drafts to our staff who will review them and make any recommendations. It is up to the Former Student to make the revisions or rewrites.
How to submit your drafts for review:
1. E-mail is our preferred method of receiving drafts. Please submit them to:
fscshelp@cctr.tamu.edu (important note)
2. Please do not use any templates to format your resume, it will make it more difficult to make any changes once you’ve completed it, and it sometimes gets distorted when sending it as an e-mail attachment.
3. If you do not have a particular job or field your are focusing on, we suggest setting up an appointment by phone or in person to assist you. You need to have a focus before you can create a resume.
4. We do our very best to complete resume reviews within 48 hours, however during the busy semesters it may take slightly longer.
5. Other methods of submitting your resume:
a. Fax – (979) 845-2979 (address to Former Student Career Services – Resume Review)
b. Mail – 209 Koldus, 1233 TAMU, College Station, Texas 77843-1233 (address to Former Student Career Services – Resume Review)
c. You can also drop your resume by in person at the above address.
NOTE:The purpose of a resume is to market “Product You” to a specific audience, therefore keep the following in mind when you submit a resume draft for us to review:
- It is important to have a specific job, company or at least a career field in mind when drafting your resume. If you have a job description you can submit to us along with your resume, it will help us in our review.
- Content is as important (or more) than format. It helps us help you the more we know specifics about any experience, activities etc.
- A resume is not about what you’re selling, its about what your target audience is buying.
