Gain experience in a career-related field
Acquiring knowledge of the structure of the world of work and getting work
experience is very important. Work experience can be achieved through
work-study, summer jobs, internships and cooperative education assignments. It is
important to have experiences that will help you identify and choose a career
that is suitable for you based on your personal characteristics.
Cooperative Education allows you to alternate full-time employment with your
academic studies.
Internships are another form of work experience available through the Career
Center and through some academic departments. The Career Center Library maintains a section of books
and job listings of internship opportunities. Internship listings are
available through AggieLaunch.
Summer job listings can be found in the Career
Center Library. Many employers recruiting on campus will post job
opportunities through AggieLaunch.
Work-study/student worker opportunities are another means for getting work
experience. These jobs are available through Student Financial Aid.
