Demographics | Objective | Education | Skills | Experience | References | Appearance | Final Thoughts
Here we have outlined the basic content you should have in your resume. The
important thing to remember is that most employers will spend about 30 seconds
on your resume the first time they look at it. That means that you need to
format it so that it can be easily scanned and important information picked up
by anyone who is looking at it. In general, the most important information will
be first on the page. For a new graduate, that will be education info (after
contact information and objective). However, as your career progresses,
experience will move up the page and education further down the page.
The tutorial is laid out so that you can move in sequence through the
pages, one at a time, or you can select specific topics by using the table of
contents below or at the top of each page. If you have any questions that are
not answered here, please call 845-5139, email advisor@careercenter.tamu.edu or
come in for a resume review.
