After its inaugural mission was fulfilled, some of the remnants of the
original task force were converted to the Career Center Advisory Council that
met on an annual basis to provide performance feedback, problem solving on
specific issues, and new ideas. The membership has been continuously
renewed with staggered term rotations.
In addition to Career Center staff, representatives from each of the Center’s
customer groups (students, employers, faculty, and staff) serve on the
Council. Typically, customer representatives serve two-year terms and may
be reappointed if they express interest and if an appropriate broad
representation of employer representatives, academic departments and other
support units at Texas A&M is maintained.
An annual day-long Advisory Council Meeting typically takes place in late May
to mid-June. Faculty and staff who have an interest in serving should
contact Dr. Leigh Turner, Executive
Director or Dr. Wayne Terrell, Associate
Director. Currently, 20 faculty and staff members (excluding Career Center
staff) serve on the Advisory Council.
