Career Advising
The Career Center offers a variety of career
advising services. Whether you are trying to decide on a major or career, need
to revise your resume, want to gain experience and knowledge or you are ready to
start your job search, we can help!
Walk-In Advising
The Career Center offers walk-in advising to Texas
A&M students 8:30am-11:00am & 1:30pm-4:00pm, Monday through
Friday during each fall and spring semester. Walk-in advising is also offered
during the summer from 1:30pm-4:00pm each afternoon. During these times you can
sign in and meet with an advisor about career questions, resume review, salary
evaluation and other topics you need to discuss. We encourage you to come to the
Career Center and have your resume reviewed during the first five or six weeks
of class. We want you to be prepared when companies begin recruiting on
campus.
Advising by Appointment
If you think you will need more than 10 or
15 minutes with an advisor, or you want to do a mock interview, have your
portfolio reviewed or have several questions answered, then you can make an
appointment with an advisor. Appointments are usually 30-60 minutes in
length. Our advisors specialize with different majors and colleges and some
specialize on specific topics such as salary negotiation or portfolios. If you
do not know which advisor you should see, just call 845-5139 and someone there
can help direct you to the right person. We also have our advisors listed by major or college if you want
to email them directly.
Email Advising
You can send an email to advisor@careercenter.tamu.edu
and it will be directed to the person who can best answer your question. If the
question needs a quick answer, however, you should call 979-845-5139 and ask for
assistance.
Advising by Major
We have a variety of resources that are specific
to different majors in the Career Center and on our web site. You can get more
info by going to My Major and searching for your
college or major.
