Research the organization, know the job, and be able to articulate why you want to work there.
Prepare 3-5 questions to ask which truly showcase your interest in the company
Practice interviewing in front of a peer, mentor, and Career Coordinator. Also, utilize the online “mock interview” program the Career Center offers through HireAggies.
Treat every employee as if they have the power to hire you.
Arrive on time, prepared and dressed professionally.
Make a good first impression, answer questions using the STAR Method, and be aware of your mannerisms and body language.
At the end of the interview, summarize what you have covered already and add what you may not have been able to tell them.
Follow-up as quickly as possible after the interview with an email expressing your gratitude and your interest in the position.
