While both graduate and professional schools offer education beyond a bachelor’s degree, they serve different purposes.
Graduate school generally focuses on advanced study, research and specialized knowledge within an academic or professional field. Graduate programs include master’s, doctoral, and other graduate-level degrees.
Professional school prepares students for specific careers and professions, such as law, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and other health and professional fields. These programs typically have specific prerequisites, admissions requirements and professional competencies.
