Howdy Ags,
It’s that time of year yet again- the time of year where we set a resolution for ourselves, a “new me”. Some make it their goal to hit the gym every day; others strive to embrace positivity and “good vibes”. The wonderful thing about a new year in all sincerity is the fact that we do have the opportunity to bask in a new start.
For those of you returning, welcome back! If you are just now joining us at Texas A&M University for the very first time, we are so glad to have you. As a January 2017 Transfer Student, my heart goes out to you- your time here will truly be the best so long as you embrace all that Texas A&M has to offer.
May/Summer graduates: the end is near! Hopefully you have already applied for graduation or are at least making a brisk walk towards the idea. For many like myself, you are dealing with the daily hackle of your parents to “get a real job”, “get ready for the real world”, or my personal favorite, “Seriously?” The good news is we are here to help! The Career Center is more than the people who seem to shed pens like glitter; we are here for you and to help you evade the impending “Seriously?”
Cover letter and resume help, career advising, and professional school advising are a few of the services we offer, but the best part about it is that they are already paid for since they are built into your tuition and fees. In addition to the one-on-one opportunities supplied to you, throughout the semester The Career Center also offers career fairs, college specific, to make your job search that much easier. We have rounded up some of the best employers and companies compacted in one room, just for you. To land your dream job, visit http://careercenter.tamu.edu/events to see a list of upcoming career fair dates.
As we kick start the semester, we invite you to please visit us during walk-in hours! Nothing can lay a solid foundation for a fruitful semester like making sure you are on top of your game.
Walk-in Advising Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:30 am - 11:00 am
1:30 pm - 4:00 pm
To access other resources and to see all that the Career Center has to offer, visit us online at http://careercenter.tamu.edu.
It’s easy to want to do well for yourself, but it can be intimidating to find the first step especially you are unsure of your footing. Let the Career Center help you in tackling your spring semester here in Aggieland whether it’s seeking an internship, your career, or the approval of your parents. Once you can wake up knowing that this life is yours for the taking, I promise you’ll be the first one in the parking lot for your 8 am the whole semester. Have a great semester and Gig ‘em Ags!
