Zero Tolerance Policy
The Texas A&M Career Center has a zero-tolerance policy for interview no-shows and late cancellations. Failing to show up for a scheduled employment interview, also called a no-show, is professionally unacceptable. It is costly in terms of lost corporate time and prevents other Texas A&M students from interviewing. No-shows and late cancellations will not be tolerated during the on-campus interview process. What is a Late Cancellation?
A Late Cancellation occurs when you cancel an interview after 5:00pm two business days (Monday through Friday) prior to the actual interview. When you cancel late, it limits the time available for an employer to fill your spot with another student and as a result, is not much different than a No-Show.If your interview is on: | You must cancel by: |
---|---|
Monday | Wednesday, the week before |
Tuesday | Thursday, the week before |
Wednesday | Friday, the week before |
Thursday | Monday, the same week |
Friday | Tuesday, the same week |
To cancel on interview, please contact the Career Center staff by phone (979-845-5139) or in person (209 Koldus). Canceling an interview by email to the Career Center is not acceptable. No-Shows and Late Cancellations will not be tolerated during the On-Campus Interview process.
Procedures for No-Show and Late Cancellations
Upon notification by a recruiter that a no-show or late cancellation has occurred, your interviewing privileges will be suspended, and your HireAggies account will be blocked immediately. A Career Center staff member will contact you via email to notify you of the block on your HireAggies account and the actions required to correct the situation.First Offense Action
Your HireAggies account will be blocked by the Career Center, and your interviewing privileges will be suspended. You must write a letter of apology to the employer within two weeks of the no-show or late cancellation. If contact information is not available, send your letter to cc_advisor@tamu.edu, and Career Center staff will forward your letter to the appropriate company representative on your behalf. Once the Career Center receives a copy of your letter, your HireAggies account will be reinstated, and you will be notified via email when that process is finalized. If you fail to provide an apology letter within two weeks, you will be blocked from the HireAggies system for 6 months.
